Description
Stonecroft is an 18th-century house that features a gable dated 1628, which may have been relocated during a restoration in 1891. The building is constructed from coursed rubble stone with quoins and stone dressings, topped with a Collyweston slate roof that has moulded stone end stacks and stone-coped gables. It stands 2½ stories tall and has three 2-light casement windows on the upper floor, above two similar windows and two 2-light hipped dormers.
At the left end, there is a two-storey wing that projects to the rear, which includes a two-storey, five-light stone mullion canted bay. The gable of this bay features kneelers, stone coping, and a finial, with the inscription AN.DO.1628. To the right, there is a glazed door with an overlight and two one-light windows above, along with a tablet inscribed 'Nisi Dominus Frustra 1891'. There is a second wing at the rear with a stone ridge and brick end stacks, which serves as the current entrance.
A stone-coped wall, approximately 2 meters high, extends from the right end of the front and connects the house to a small one-storey garden room. This garden room has a pyramidal Collyweston slate roof and a 2-light stone mullion window facing the road.
