Description

The barn at Luffenham Hall is a Grade II* listed structure, dated 1555, with a roof that was likely replaced in the 17th or 18th century. It is built from coursed rubble stone, featuring a plinth, quoins, and stone dressings, topped with a Collyweston slate roof that has a stone angle stack. The barn is a high single storey with a central projecting gable. In this gable, there is a double door and a stone tablet inscribed with 'ANO.DMI.1555'. On either side of the gable, there are two long loopholes. The left end of the barn has a single storey extension, while the rear features two stepped buttresses and four additional loopholes.
