Description
Fir Tree Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, located on Main Street in Cottesmore. It is constructed of coursed squared stone with stone dressings, and has a thatched roof with a central ridge and end stacks; the stack on the left is of moulded stone, while the others are of brick. The house has two storeys and five windows, predominantly featuring 2/2 sash windows. A doorway is centrally located on the left side, with a wooden porch and a part-glazed door. There is a single-storey extension on the right end, with a door and window facing the front. A two-storey L-shaped wing, which incorporates both a house and a barn, extends to the rear, covered by a pantile roof. Inside the main house are two inglenooks and chamfered beams.
