Description
The White Hart is a public house located on Main Street in Lyddington. It was built in the early to mid-19th century and features a 20th-century extension. The building is constructed from dressed ironstone rubble and has a Welsh slate roof with stone-coped gables and brick chimneys. It has a T-plan layout and stands two storeys tall.
The central projecting wing, which is early 19th century, has one bay of wooden casements with horizontal glazing bars; the lower window has three lights, while the upper window has two lights. The wing to the right, at the street end, is also early to mid-19th century and includes two bays of four-pane sashes and a door to the left with a rectangular fanlight. All openings are fitted with stone sills and lintels. The wing to the left has been altered and features wooden casements, two doors, and the 20th-century extension. The building is included for its group value.
