Description
The war memorial obelisk and kerb, located 70 meters northeast of the Castle Museum in Nottingham, was erected around 1880 by the 59th Regiment. It is made of grey granite and features an obelisk set on a tapering square base and pedestal. The memorial is surrounded by a kerb that includes miniature obelisks linked by chains. The pedestal bears an inscription. This memorial commemorates those who were killed during the Afghan campaign from 1878 to 1880.
