Description

The flagstaff, located 15 meters north-west of the Council House in Nottingham's Old Market Square, was constructed around 1929 by Cecil Howitt for Nottingham City Council. It features a tapered steel pole that sits atop a fluted column adorned with an anthemion frieze. The column is supported by a bronze base that includes four volutes and decorative enrichments. This flagstaff is included in the listing for its group value.
