Description
34 and 35 Long Row is a shop that has been converted into a restaurant, dated 1910 and altered around 1989. The building is constructed of brick with an ashlar front, and the roof is not visible behind the parapet. It is designed in the Baroque Revival style and features three storeys plus attics, with a five-window range. The windows are primarily original wooden framed cross casements. The front is symmetrical with a slightly projecting central bay, and it has a modillion main cornice topped with a central segmental broken pediment. The ground floor is arcaded and supported by four granite columns, with a late 20th-century shopfront and fascia. The first and second floors have rusticated quoins on the central bay and at the corners. The central window features a concave-sided pediment, flanked by windows that have alternating triangular and segmental pediments. Above, there are five smaller windows, with the central one decorated with swags. Above the cornice, there is a round window with a keystone, flanked by two square windows, all beneath a coped parapet that has a central pedestal.
