Description

A row of three firemen’s houses built between 1925 and 1927, designed by A. E. and T. Sawday. The houses are constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and feature plain tile hipped roofs. They have four ridge stacks. The design incorporates a brick plinth, quoins, and an eaves band with corner brackets. The two-storey facade has seven windows. The central bay projects slightly and contains a main doorway with a brick surround, an inset part-glazed door flanked by side lights, and above it a twelve-pane casement window. Two two-light glazing bar casement windows are set back on either side, with two similar smaller windows above. The projecting side wings each have a single three-light glazing bar casement window, with a single smaller two-light casement above. This row of houses was constructed as part of the firemen's accommodation provided for the Leicester Fire Station.
