27 and 29, Lancaster Place

27 and 29 Lancaster Place are a pair of firemen's houses built between 1925 and 1927, designed by A. E. and T. Sawday. The houses are constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and feature plain tile hipped roofs. They have three ridge stacks and a brick plinth. The buildings are two storeys high with a six-window front. The recessed center includes two two-light glazing bar casements, with two smaller similar casements above. Each projecting side wing has inner doorways with brick surrounds and part-glazed doors, along with outer two-light glazing bar casements. Above the doors, there is a single fixed light with glazing bars, and further along, there are single two-light glazing bar casements. These houses were built to provide accommodation for firemen associated with the Leicester Fire Station.
