Description

A pair of firemen's houses built between 1925 and 1927. Designed by A. E. and T. Sawday, they were originally part of the accommodation provided for Leicester Fire Station. The houses are constructed of red brick, with some areas rendered, and have plain tile hipped roofs. Three ridge stacks are present. The design incorporates a brick plinth, quoins, and an eaves band accented with corner brackets.

The two-storey facade has six windows. A recessed central section contains two two-light casements on the ground floor, and two smaller, matching casements above. The projecting side wings feature inner doorways with brick surrounds and part-glazed doors, along with two-light casements with glazing bars. Above the doorways, there are single fixed lights with glazing bars, and single two-light casements beyond.

These houses were originally listed under Lancaster Road.
