Description
White House is a building from 1897, designed by Ernest Gimson for Arthur Gimson. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a slate roof with gabled ends and red brick chimney stacks. The building has an L-shaped plan and consists of two storeys and an attic. It has segmental-headed windows that are casements with glazing bars. The most notable external feature is the windowless splayed end wall with a chimney. The building also includes moulded lead rainwater drain-pipes and gutters supported by curved wrought iron brackets, as well as flat-roofed dormers. The garden elevation has a gable to the right with a chimney on the side and two two-storey splayed bays that showcase moulded plasterwork, which includes the date 1897 and the initials A.J.G.
