Description
Block A is a residential building located at the former College Hall of the University of Leicester, constructed between 1958 and 1960 by architects Sir Leslie Martin and Trevor Dannatt. The building is made of buff brick with timber cladding and features a concrete flat roof.
It is designed in an L shape and consists of three storeys, with the southern range facing south. The ground floor is recessed, while the first and second floors project out, creating balconies for the upper rooms. The building includes large plate glass windows set in timber frames, with timber panels located to the right of the upper floor windows. Block A is an integral part of the layout of the former College Hall.
