Description
Nos 69 and 71 Market Place, along with Nos 1 and 3 Victoria Parade, are early 19th-century buildings that flank the entrance to Victoria Parade, a footway. They feature low-pitched slate roofs with gable ends and are constructed from gault brick. The buildings rise to three storeys and each has two windows facing Market Place, all of which are sash windows. No 69 includes glazing bars and has flat stuccoed arches above the windows. There are four windows on each block facing Victoria Parade, and a stucco eaves cornice runs along the top. The ground floors have modern shop fronts with deep fascias. These buildings are included for their group value, as they contribute to the architectural character of the east side of Market Place.
