Description
No. 7 Friar Gate is an early 19th-century house constructed of ashlar stone. It stands three storeys tall and features four sash windows with moulded stone surrounds, lacking glazing bars. The first-storey windows are adorned with cornices, and there is a moulded cornice above the ground-storey windows as well as below the panelled parapet. The building has stone quoins and a 19th-century door set in a moulded segmental-headed frame. To the right, there is a rusticated coach arch. This house, along with the Church of St Werburgh and the former offices of the East Midlands Gas Board, forms a cohesive group of buildings.
