Description
Derby City Church, formerly known as Elim Pentecostal Church, is a former Temperance Hall that was built in 1854, with later additions in 1889 and the 20th century. It was designed by Henry I Stevens and features red brick and painted stucco with slate roofs. The entrance facade is gabled, while the side facades are mostly concealed, each having five round-headed windows and a blind projection on the east gable.
Inside, the church boasts an impressive roof supported by laminated wooden roof trusses. There are galleries around three sides, which are held up by large iron console brackets, and the curved fronts of the galleries were likely replaced in the 20th century.
