Description
The Former Derby Education Department Annexe is a late 19th-century building constructed of red brick with stone dressings. The ground floor is faced with ashlar stone and features a rusticated design. The building has two storeys, with the center slightly recessed and containing one window. There are five sash windows, each set within moulded stone architraves that have semi-circular arched heads and pilasters, along with cast iron panels below. Stone quoins are present at all corners, and a bracketed cornice runs along the first floor. The central doorway has a semi-circular head adorned with voussoirs and a figure-head keyblock, leading to a six-panelled divided door. The brick parapet is topped with stone baluster panels, and there is a segmental pediment at the center featuring a carved tympanum. To the left side, there is a single-storey bay with one window.
