Description
The Entrance Lodge of the Arboretum, built around 1865, is a two-storey structure made of red brick with stone dressings. The front of the lodge faces south and features a left-hand section with two canted stone bays, one of which is tiered over both storeys. It has two shaped gables with a clustered stone stack positioned between them. The right-hand section includes one window set in a stone surround with an alleged gable above it, a doorway on the left side, and a porch that has a semi-circular head and a shaped gable. The gables at the rear and on the east elevation are topped with obelisk finials. The lodge is capped with a decorative tile roof.
