Description

Nos 18 and 19 Iron Gate are a late 18th century or early 19th century building that forms one structure with Nos 40 to 42 St Mary's Gate. The building is made of red brick and stands three storeys high, featuring four sash windows. It has a wide moulded stucco eaves cornice and a small parapet. The shop windows have modern glazing but still include a dentilled frieze and a moulded cornice. No 19 has a six-panelled door with a glazed fanlight above it. Nos 18 to 22 form a group with Nos 25, 26, the Former Technical College Annexe, and Nos 35 to 38, as well as Nos 40 to 42 St Mary's Gate.
