Description
No 9 Iron Gate is a late 19th-century building in the Gothic style. It is constructed of yellow brick, featuring stone and red and blue brick dressings. The building stands four storeys tall and has three-light mullioned windows with pointed arched lights. It includes decorative floor bands and bands of red and blue brick, a moulded eaves cornice, and a stone-coped gable. The ground floor has a modern shop front.
Nos 9 to 11 Iron Gate, Nos 15 to 17 Iron Gate, and the Cathedral Church of All Saints form a group with No 2 Amen Alley, No 1 Queen Street, and Nos 1 and 3 College Place, along with two posts at the west end of College Place.
