Description

Nos 1 and 2 Albert Street, dated 1848, are a pair of three-storey buildings constructed of red brick with stone dressings. They feature six sash windows without glazing bars, set in moulded stone architraves topped with segmental pediments. The window on the curved angle of the return side includes a cartouche displaying the date. There are moulded head and sill bands at the second storey, and the left-hand portion of the building has a slight projection. The corners of the building are accented with quoins, and it has a plain frieze, a modillion eaves cornice, and a parapet. The ground floor has modern shop fronts, and the return side has a single window.
