Description

This is a late 18th or early 19th century terrace of 14 three-storey houses, built for mill workers. The buildings are arranged sequentially along Lavender Row, and the roofline steps to follow the sloping ground. The construction is primarily red brick, with the ground floor finished in engraved stucco. The houses feature 14 sash windows, one of which is blocked, and the windows generally have glazing bars. They are topped with stone lintels, keyblocks, and sills. The doorways have similar decorative treatment. Other details include dog-tooth eaves and slate roofing. Numbers 1 to 14 form a group with numbers 5 to 27 on the odd side of Mile Ash Lane.
