Description

The Hollies Farmhouse is a 17th century building with later additions, located on Robin Croft Road in Allestree. It is constructed of red brick and features two storeys with a concealed attic. The facade includes six casement windows, two of which have 19th century gables, along with some 19th century casements and modern glazing. The ground floor has a 19th century bay window, a doorway, and a porch. At the rear, there is a 17th century gable with a string course at the left floor and a small window under the eaves. The farmhouse has prominent end chimneys and a large central chimney, topped with old tiles.

Inside, the farmhouse boasts exposed ceiling beams and attractive 19th century cast iron fireplaces with decorative details. The garden wall is made of ashlar sandstone, with similar wall remnants found on the west side of the house and in parts of the adjoining farm buildings. The attached group of farm buildings, which includes elements from the 17th and 19th centuries, is arranged around a farmyard. This group consists of two three-storey barns connected by single-storey cowsheds, along with a cowshed and cart shed on the west side, piggeries on the northeast side, and workshops and a tractor shed on the east side at the rear of the front wall.
