Description

The walls flanking the north-west entrance to Thornes Park, built in the 18th century, are made of red brick. They feature two outer quadrants, with the northern quadrant having a straight extension. The taller central sections include a cornice and blocking course, along with angle pilasters and sunk panels within stone architraves. From these sections, small, low walls extend inwards towards the drive, where low, square piers with later stone caps are the only remnants of the original gate piers.
