Description
This coach house, located approximately 10 meters north of Number 10 (The Old Vicarage), dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof, facing a courtyard. The building is two storeys high and consists of four bays. There are doorways at either end leading to single cells; the left doorway has a chamfered surround, while the right doorway is likely a later addition and has a window to its right. To the right of the center, there is an elliptical-arched carriage entry with tie-stone jambs, and above it, a square window with a horizontal 8-pane sash and a plain stone surround. The first-floor windows on either side of the carriage entry are blocked. The gables are coped and feature kneelers.
Inside, the outer bays are floored, possibly for servants' accommodation. The first bay includes large stop-chamfered spine beams and floor joists. Above, there is a fish-bone king-post truss along with two other principal rafter trusses that have tie beams and collars.
