Description
Woolley Church of England School is a school building dated 1842, constructed from punch-dressed stone with ashlar dressings and a Welsh blue-slate roof. It is a single-storey structure featuring five bays. The building has a plinth and channelled quoin pilasters at the corners of the main range, with a gabled wing that projects forward, occupying the fourth and fifth bays.
The second bay showcases a prominent lateral external belfry, which has rusticated quoins and offsets, along with a two-centred arched window of two orders. Above this window is a date plaque that reads: "This school for Girls and Infants was built by Subscription A:D. MDCCCXLII Jesus saith feed my lambs. John XXI.15". The gable is coped and includes an arched belfry opening at the apex.
On either side of the belfry, there are square double-chamfered windows. The projecting wing features rusticated quoins and a doorway with an inner recess and a plain eared architrave to the left of a square window. Additionally, there is a circular window at the apex of the coped gable, complete with kneelers.
