Description
A pair of houses dating from the late 18th century, located on Town Street in Guiseley. They are constructed of squared sandstone with a stone slate roof. Each house originally comprised two units, arranged with two storeys under a single roof, and were designed with a double-fronted, almost symmetrical appearance. However, number 62 has a longer facade. The doorways are positioned offset to the left and right of the centre, featuring plain surrounds and modern pitched canopies. Each house originally had two windows on each floor, all with flat-faced flush mullions and plain surrounds; all windows were of three lights, except for the ground-floor window of number 60, which was of two lights. A 19th-century iron street name plate reading “Town Street” is attached to the upper left corner of number 62. Moulded gutter brackets are present, along with chimneys at both gables and one on the ridge where the buildings meet. The building abuts the rear of number 58 at the right-hand end.
