Description
Milestone located opposite the junction with Kiddal Lane, dating from the mid-19th century. It features a round-arched stone structure that is overlaid with a triangular section of cast iron. The letters are presented in relief. The top of the milestone reads: 'TADCASTER . AND . HALTONDIAL TURNPIKE . ROAD'. The left side indicates that Tadcaster is 6 miles away, while the right side states that Leeds is 8 miles away.
