Description

A pair of houses at 42 and 44 Headingley Lane, Leeds, dating to circa 1840 and altered in the 20th century. They are constructed of coursed squared stone and ashlar, with a slate hipped roof. The houses are two storeys and three bays each. Each house has a central panelled door with an overlight, set within a stone surround featuring pilasters, a cornice, and a blocking piece. The flanking windows and those on the first floor are sash windows; the first floor of number 44 (the left-hand house) retains two original four-pane windows in their original frames. A sill band is present on the first floor. Number 42 has 20th-century top-hung casements throughout. Corniced end stacks are present on each house. The interior has not been inspected.
