Description

This is a terrace of four houses located on Main Street in Shadwell, Leeds. The terrace dates to the early 19th century and was altered in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a stone slate roof. Large quoins are a prominent feature.

The terrace is two storeys high and has four windows on the first floor. The ground floor displays a varied pattern of windows: wide, wide, wide, doorway, wide, doorway, wide, all with glazed doors and overlights. The ground floor windows are 8-pane casements, and those to the left and the first floor left are similar. The first floor right has a plain stone silled and lintelled top-hung casement window alongside a smaller 6-pane window. The terrace features four large brick stacks, one to the left and three across the ridge between the cottages. The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
