Description

No. 164 on Town Street in Rodley is a late 18th-century warehouse constructed from coursed squared gritstone with a stone slate roof. The building has one storey facing the road and two storeys at the rear, which is built directly over the stone lining of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. The central entrance on the road features a plain stone surround and there is one small window. On the canal side, there are eight lower openings that are obscured by louvred panels. The upper storey has a loading doorway with a plain lintel and tie-stone jambs, which has been converted into a window, along with six small square windows arranged in groups of 1:3:2. The roof has two low chimneys or vents along the ridge and displays two rows of three and five X-form tie plates. The interior has not been inspected.
