Description

This is a late 18th-century cottage with an attached workshop, altered in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of coursed squared gritstone with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and one bay facing the street, with an additional three storeys to the rear. The front entrance, located to the right of centre, features a plain stone surround with tie-stone jambs and a rectangular overlight. To the left of the entrance is a large, square 19th-century shop window. Low down on the right side of the building is the top of a blocked round-arched opening. A two-light, flat-faced mullioned window sits on the first floor, alongside 20th-century top-hinged casement windows. The building has paired gutter brackets, a gable coping on the left side, and a four-flue brick stack to the left. The rear facade has two-light windows. The interior has not been inspected.
