Hall of residence. 1911. By GW Atkinson. Red brick, ashlar details, slate hipped roof. 3 storeys, 5 unequal bays of 3,5,1,5,3 windows. In Classical 'Wrennaissance' style, one of the 7 halls grouped to the S of the main building. Central and outer bays break forward; ashlar plinth, brick quoins, rustication continued across the ground floor. Central entrance: 3-panel double doors with interlaced glazing bars to overlight, attached fluted columns, triglyph frieze to entablature, modillion cornice, balustrade above. The windows above in ashlar panel with eared architrave and keystone. Small-pane sashes throughout, in round-arched recesses to upper floors. 1st-floor band, modillion cornice, pedimented end and centre bays, decorated tall brick ridge stacks. INTERIOR: not inspected.
