Description

This is a terrace of five houses with the address 1-5 Headingley Terrace, and a separate house at 2 Cumberland Road, built around 1840. The houses are constructed of ashlar stone, feature chamfered quoins, and have low-pitched slate roofs. The design is two storeys with attics, and the facade is arranged with five bays, displaying a 1:3:3:3:1 window arrangement, with the central and outer bays projecting forward. Steps with iron railings lead up to each entrance, and each house has a porch supported by Tuscan columns and a decorative entablature. The windows in the projecting bays are tall casements with cornices on console brackets, while the remaining windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The first-floor windows are plain casements. The gables have narrow, round-headed attic windows. The terrace exhibits wide, bracketed eaves and stone-corniced stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
