Description
This is a single-aisled barn located approximately 35 metres due east of Tyersal Hall, likely built in the early 18th century, with possibly earlier reused roof trusses. The structure is made of thin coursed rubble and features a stone slate roof that has been partly repaired with corrugated iron. The barn consists of five bays and has stressed quoins. It is aisled to the west and faces into a courtyard at right angles to another barn. There is a pent porch with quoined angles set in the third bay, flanked by two inserted windows.
Inside, which has been partially observed, there is a fine king-post roof with single angle struts. This barn is part of a group that includes Tyersal Hall.
