Description
Maythorne Farmhouse is a farmhouse with origins dating back to the 17th century, which was enlarged in the mid to late 18th century. The original part is constructed of coursed gritstone, while the later additions are made from regular sandstone brick. The building features a stone slate roof and has flush quoins. It includes three-light square mullion windows set in squared surrounds. At the rear, there is an outshut that retains two-light chamfered mullion windows, which were originally four-light, in deeply splayed reveals. The farmhouse formerly had a stone external staircase, which has since been rebuilt in brick. The interior has been modernised, with beams boxed in.
