Description

These are two cottages, 4 and 5 High Fold, located in Nether Yeadon, near Aireborough. Number 4 dates to the early 19th century, while number 5 is from the later 18th century. Number 4 is built of coursed squared sandstone and has a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular, double-depth plan and two storeys, with two bays. The front is almost symmetrical, featuring a simple doorway slightly right of centre and two windows on each floor. The ground floor windows to the right have two lights, while the others have three lights, all with flat-faced flush-mullions and plain surrounds. A chimney is located at the left gable and at the junction with number 5. Number 5 is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and also has a stone slate roof. It has a rectangular, double-depth plan and two storeys, with one bay. It features a plain doorway to the left, and windows that originally had three lights on each floor, with plain surrounds but now altered glazing. There is also an inserted window on the first floor above the door. The cottages are listed for their group value.
