Description
This is a terrace of five houses located on Main Street in Shadwell, Leeds. The terrace dates to approximately 1800, with alterations made in the 20th century. The buildings are constructed of hammer-dressed gritstone, with a slate roof. The main range is two storeys high and originally contained four first-floor windows, with coped gables; the left bay is lower and has a lower roofline. The left bay features large quoins. The front entrance is on the right side. The windows are set in irregular 20th-century small-pane frames, with plain stone lintels and small roof slates. The main range is composed of two builds, with window openings that are square, and larger on the ground floor, all with substantial stone lintels and stone sills on the right. A brick stack is located on the left side, while banded stone ridge stacks are visible to the left and centre of the main range, and two white brick stacks are on the right. The interior has not been inspected. The terrace is included on the list for its group value.
