Description
Number 45 is a house, now used as offices, located on the north side of Park Square in Leeds. It was built between 1806 and 1815, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys tall with a basement and features three first-floor windows. The central entrance has a panelled door with a fanlight, set in a stone surround topped with a cornice. The ground-floor windows on either side of the entrance have segmental arches and late 19th-century moulded frames, while the upper-floor windows are sash types with glazing bars and flat brick arches. A stone band runs along the first-floor level, and the eaves are supported by wooden brackets, with chimney stacks at each end. The plain railings surrounding the basement area are also noted. This building is one of the later constructions on Park Square, as the plots were leased and developed by the Wilson estate.
