Description
The former Jacob Kramer College features a wall, gate piers, and gates along Whitehall Road, likely built in 1884 by Richard Adams. The structure includes a low brick wall topped with stone coping and elaborate cast-iron railings. These railings have moulded standards with knob finials and scrolled supports, while the rails display alternating flower and bud finials. The two-leaf gates share a similar design, featuring scrollwork on the lock rail and above, although one gate is damaged. The gate piers are octagonal with a plinth and shaft, narrowing below a capstone adorned with a carved flower frieze and topped with domed knob finials. The overall length of the wall is approximately 50 meters. This site represents the fine craftsmanship typical of Leeds Board Schools and is included for its group value. The interior has not been inspected.
