Description
This listing describes a chest tomb and a raised grave slab located approximately 10 meters north-west of the corner buttress of the Church of St. Mary. The chest tomb dates from around 1735 and is made of ashlar. It is inscribed with details about Anne Lister, the wife of William Lister, who passed away on April 7, 1735, at the age of 60. The raised grave slab commemorates William Havden, who died on August 26, 1699, at the age of 58. The tomb features finely carved pilasters, an entablature, and a semicircular head with a keystone that has a carved angel, along with trumpeting angels in high relief in the spandrels.
