Description

This is a group of three raised tomb slabs located between central buttresses in the north aisle of the Church of St. Mary. The tomb slabs date from 1676, 1707, and 1750.

One slab is inscribed with "HERE lyeth the Body of Mr John Lister late of Tingley Minister of the Gospel who departed this life April the 18 DAY OF NOVEMBER 1707 Aged 47" and features a decorative border with a central heart motif. Another slab reads "HERE LYETH INTERED THE BODY OF CAPTAIN JOHN PICKERING..."
