Description
The College Building, located approximately 25 metres south of Mount St Joseph's College, is a Grade II listed structure built between 1867 and 1868. It was likely designed by Wilson and Wilcox of Bath and originally served as a professor's residence for the Wesleyan College. The building is constructed from coursed squared rock-faced stone with ashlar details and features a slate roof.
It has two storeys and two bays, with the left bay being gabled and slightly projecting. The central entrance is set within a single-storey glazed lean-to verandah, and there is a canted bay window to the left. The windows are paired and single 4-pane sashes. Additional architectural details include stone gutter brackets, gable coping, tile ridge cresting, and a tall stack on the left side.
On the left return, there is a gablet roof, a gabled roof, and a pitched service bay roof, with the same fenestration as the front. This building is one of a pair of professors' houses mentioned in the 1872 Directory. The interior has not been inspected.
