Description
The Galli Family Memorial, located in Beckett Street Cemetery, was built around 1864 and is designed in the Gothic Revival style. It features a chamfered polygonal base that supports a central column and an outer ring of columns, which have ringed bases and floral-decorated capitals. These columns carry pointed arches beneath gablets topped with fleur-de-lis finials, surrounding an offset tapering stage. Above this, there is another ring of similar but simpler columns, arches, and gablets, culminating in a spire adorned with banded fish-scale decoration, crocketing, and a large finial. The central column includes inscriptions commemorating Ellen, the wife of Joseph Galli, who died in 1864 at the age of 25; their child Maria Teresa, who died in 1870 at the age of 6; Lucy, the wife of Andrea Joseph Galli, who died in 1896; Joseph Robert Galli, who died in 1883 at the age of 10; and Andrea Joseph Galli, who died in 1888.
