Description
The Bramham War Memorial is a 5-meter tall structure located prominently at the junction of Front Street and Town Hill. It features a Maltese cross atop a tapering shaft made of gritstone. One side of the shaft is inscribed with the years 1939 – 1945, along with names.
The shaft is elevated on a square limestone plinth, which has its upper corners cut away. An incised inscription encircles the sides of the plinth, stating, "REMEMBER THE MEN OF BRAMHAM WHO DIED FOR ENGLAND 1914 - 1918 MAY THEY REST IN PEACE."
Bronze plaques displaying the names of those commemorated are affixed to the sides of the plinth. Three plaques list names from 1914 - 1918, while the fourth plaque is dedicated to names from 1939 - 1945.
The plinth rests on a three-stepped square base, and the memorial is enclosed by six wooden posts connected by chains.
