Description
This headstone, dated 1775, is located on the south side of the path, approximately 7 metres south of the porch of the Church of St. Oswald in Guiseley. It is made of sandstone and features a moulded surround with a heavily-shaped upper edge that includes a circle between two waves. The headstone is decorated with a raised initial letter "H" set in a sunk panel. The inscription reads: "HERE lie the Remains of an Honest Man G. Rhodes who died Jan 3rd 1775 Aged 60 Years."
