Description

No. 72 on Main Street is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has a two-cell central-entry plan and stands two storeys tall. It displays quoins and a three-bay symmetrical facade. The doorway is notable for its base blocks, joweled jambs, lintel, consoles, cornice, and overlight. The flanking bays contain large windows with deep painted lintels and projecting sills, although the glazing has been altered to include multi-pane upper casements. The roofline is finished with a parapet that has a cornice and blocking course, and there are gable stacks.
