Description
This is an early 19th-century house, restored around 1980. It is located on Church Row in Leeds and has a facade facing onto High Court Lane. The house is constructed of brick, rendered and lined to imitate ashlar, and has a low-pitched slate roof with a shortened stack on the left. It is two storeys high and two windows wide at the front. The ground floor windows are 4-pane sashes with modern frames, while the first floor has modern frames. A central 6-panel door is contained within a wooden surround featuring pilasters and an entablature, with an overlight above. A continuous sill band runs along the first floor, and there is a deep eaves band. The right return side has a doorway and window set within round-arched recesses with moulded arches and imposts; the windows above have moulded architraves and modern frames. The facade facing High Court Lane is six windows wide, with restored sashes featuring glazing bars and a former shop window on the ground floor to the left. The interior was not inspected during listing. The area between Church Row and High Court Lane was built up before 1725, and the building's location near the main gateway to the churchyard suggests a connection with the Parish Church of St Peter, Kirkgate.
