Description
The gateway and boundary wall to the east of the Parish Church of St Peter are remnants from after 1841. Constructed from gritstone, the wall features coursed and squared gritstone that has been cut to an ashlar finish. It stands approximately 1 meter high and stretches about 20 meters long, forming part of Church Row on the west side of the Church of St Peter. The gate piers are square in section with chamfered plinths and panelled sides, although only the lower parts remain, and the caps are missing. For a reference to the original form, one can look at the boundary wall to Church Row.
