Description
This building, located on New York Street in Leeds, is a warehouse, workshops, and shops constructed around 1900, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is built from brick and has a slate roof. The structure has four storeys with attics and is arranged in an L-shape, extending to Harper Street. The front features ten first-floor windows, an angled corner bay, and five windows on the return side. The ground floor retains its original divisions but has late 20th-century shop fronts. The first, second, and third floors are fitted with casement and sash windows, with round-arched windows on the second floor. Small attic windows are located in ornate gables at the roof. At the rear, there are segmental-arched loading doors in the center, flanked by full-height wood-framed glazing on each floor. The interior has not been inspected. Historical records indicate that in 1891, the site was occupied by a warehouse, and the rear glazing suggests it was rebuilt for light tailoring workshops, likely associated with the clothing factory office at No. 32 Kirkgate.
