Description

Hungerford House is a mid-19th century ashlar-built property on the south side of Halifax Road, in Edgerton. It has a hipped slate roof, and features a moulded and bracketed eaves cornice and a band. Corner pilasters are prominent. The east elevation has three sections of sash windows with moulded surrounds; the ground floor windows have moulded cornices, and there is a canted bay at the south end. A porch with Tuscan columns and a full entablature provides access to the front door, which has a semi-circular fanlight, moulded imposts and moulded voussoirs. A two-storey extension is situated to the south. The north elevation displays two sections of sash windows in moulded surrounds, with tripartite windows on the first floor, and canted bays with moulded cornices on the ground floor.
